Vital Certificates
Are vital records kept in a Bible allowed to be used as legal documents?
My mother-in-law has told me many times that you can use the records kept inside a Bible as legal documents. For example, I had temporarily misplaced my husband’ s birth certificate and she told me that he could just use her Bible with the records in it. Thankfully, I found it for him so I nver had to test her theory. I don’t believe this is true but I thought I’d ask in case I was wrong.
In no way. It may be evidence in cases where no formal birth certificate was ever issued back in the day.
