How do get divorced following a legal Las Vegas wedding?
Got married in Vegas in 2000, all legally certified and recorded with local Registry Office/County Recorder, but didn’t deposit certified copy of marriage certificate with UK Government Records Office on return. Therefore, UK GRO has no record of my marriage. How do I begin divorce proceedings in UK? Use UK law, or use Nevada state law?
You can divorce in Nevada as long as one of the spouses must have been a resident of Nevada for 6 weeks immediately prior to filing for divorce. The divorce may be filed in: 1) the county where either spouse resides; or 2) the county where the spouses last lived together.
