Any quotes from the Bible or Quran on life after death?
Hi, I am in need of some excellent quotes for my coursework which is on life after death and comparing Islam and Christianity on what their beliefs are. I also have an argument that must be added to my essay. My argument states that Jesus died for the sins of his fellow Christians. This argument has been given to everyone in my class and I need some information which will help me throughout this argument.
I need information that will help me see the difference in belief of afterlife between the two religions.
Please give as many quotes as you can and where it is located in the Bible or Quran so I can add it in my bibliography.
Can you also tell me what to talk about after I have put in the quote because I have to back up the evidence and explain it in full detail.
Thank you so much
The Bible tells us that there is not only life after death, but eternal life so glorious that “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him” (1 Corinthians 2:9). Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, came to the earth to give us this gift of eternal life. “He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5).
Jesus took on the punishment that each of us deserves and sacrificed His very life. Three days later, He proved Himself victorious over death by rising from the grave, in Spirit and in flesh. He remained on the earth for forty days and was witnessed by thousands before rising to His eternal home in heaven. Romans 4:25 says, “He was handed over to die because of our sins, and he was raised from the dead to make us right with God.”
Unlike all other religions, Christianity alone possesses a founder who transcends death and who promises that His followers will do the same. All other (false) religions were founded by men and prophets whose end was the grave. As Christians, we take comfort in the fact that our God became man, died for our sins, was killed, and was resurrected the third day. The grave could not hold Him. He lives and He sits today at the right hand of God the Father in heaven. The living church has a living Head.
