can a divorced indian citizen (hindu) remarry and register his marriage under hindu marriage act.
The Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 concerns marriage & related issues amongst the Hindus, in other words this Act is for religious form of marriage.
The Special Marriage Act, 1954 concerns marriage & related issues amongst the people in India irrespective of their religion, caste, creed or nationality, in other words this Act is for civil form of marriage.
After obtaining decree of divorce from the Competent Court of Law, the person/Hindu can remarry & register the marriage under either of the Acts.
