What are your tips for filling out divorce paperwork?
Anything I need to be aware of?
Question is a little vague.
but as for filling out the actual paperwork, always type it out. If you have to recreate the document on the pc (word etc) then that is always better then merely using a pen.
Unless you’re using a document created by the specific court, make sure you have the correct format. the county clerk can help you with this (ex: double spaced, 12 font, 1″ margins etc).
make sure you have the correct spelling and full legal names with correct dates for all people involoved (spouses, children, witnesses etc).
the more information you provide for assets (value, claim and origin) the better.
Just provide factual information. Emotions, opinions etc may render parts or the entire document invalid.
