Divorce Question – How much does it cost to file in California?
I have a friend in the L.A. county area that wants to get a divorce. But he’s telling me that it’s going to cost him $600.00 He said that the reason why it’s so expensive is that the rules have changes for 2009 and that not only does he pay for himself to file but the soon to be ex-wife.
Can anyone tell me if that is true, and what is the process of filing for a divorce?
The only way he can get it done that cheap is if there is no disputing it and he fills out and files the papers himself. If he has to get a lawyer it will cost as much as 10 times that amount.
