Can judgements made in a USA divorce in regards UK property and assets be enforced in the UK??r=1260572425?
I am a dual US/UK citizen. Gone through a long (3 year) divorce in the USA and I feel the judge has awarded too múch. A UK asset worth nothíng at the filing of the divorce has increased in value to the tune of a million or more pounds. The judge say she is entilied to half. Can the judgement be enforced?
UK courts CAN enforce the decree. I have no clue if they WILL. I suspect such decisions are made on a case by case basis. If they UK courts choose not to enforce the decree, your former spouse can petition the court to amend the decree to give them US bases assets with equivalent value to their share of the UK based property.
