Common Law Marriage Divorce
I did common law marriage w/ a guy in prison. I have the only copy of the papers. Do we need a divorce?
Tricky. The papers that you signed state that you are legally married even if it is common law. You could ignore it and do your thing, but you run the risk of your cl husband retaliating if he wants to be with you. All documents have a paper trail. Check out the laws in your state and go from there.
