In Beauty and the Beast the musical, can Chip be a girl?
In Beauty and the Beast, is it okay if Chip’s played by a girl? I really think I’d be good for the part, but I don’t wanna try out if they’ll only refuse me. I’ll play it as a boy if that’s necessary, but I don’t think it is. Experiences? Drama teachers? Alan Menken? DISNEY????

Chip can absolutely be played by a girl! They never refer to Chip as male or female (as Chip is a teacup, after all) =P
Sometimes it is better for a girl to play this role, since Chip’s voice should sound higher and younger. Go for it!
