Spring Musical?!?!?!?!?
So our High School Drama Department is trying to figure out which musical to do for the spring musical. We have 3 or 4 REALLY good guys and pretty good girls.
We have already done:
West Side Story
Grease
Secret Garden
Guys and Dolls
Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat
Les Miserables
Bye Bye Birdie
Godspell
and a few others that I can’t remember.
They were thinking of maybe doing Beauty and The Beast or Wizard of Oz. Can you guys name some really good musicals that you could do in a public school that has more main guy parts than girl parts?
Little Shop of Horrors is good fun.
A school near me just did Violet, and it was PHENOMENAL, but you’d need some strong women.

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (this is a HUGE cast, but it only requires about that many really great guys, one very strong girl, and a crap ton of other people. A good show for a department with lots of bit players that can kind of sing and a handful of standouts.)
